Pros

Cool job, Get to fly in aircraft and take care of sick patients. Pay was decent.

Cons

Always flying in the middle of the night. All long term employees go to outlying bases that are slower. Anchorage team is all new employees the goal is to get out of Anchorage. Leadership has been and continues to be terrible. 13+ CEO's. Plays favorites and has "good ol boy culture" Middle management will rule with iron fist. At this point after 10 years I know just as many people that have quit as have been fired. Highly punitive culture will fire you for looking at them wrong. Does not follow "just culture." Ridiculous amount of continuing education that ends up being more checking boxes then actually learning new information. Adult Medical director is weak and put in place a "mother may I ?" system. PTO is terrible.

Pros

Individuals that work there are comprised of amazing and hard working people. It exposes you to a lot of different patient populations and very specific logistics that help further shape you into a knowledgeable provider.

Cons

Turnover rates are high and management has been wiped out and is currently rebuilding. The whole organization is run like a good ol' boys club with mean girls in the remaining top leadership positions running the show. If you're friends with the right people you will go far and be allowed to conduct yourself however you see fit. If you find yourself on the other side of the line drawn in the sand by the self appointed cool kids, you will have a much more difficult experience.
