Pros
1. Exposure to wide range of clients (mostly government organisations) 2. Allows you to improve on multiple skillsets (from conceptualising to productions and graphic design) 3. Pantry is never empty and lunches (+ breakfast) during shoots are often paid for - The boss treats us lunch too yay! 4. Full-timers are generally very helpful and pretty nurturing 5. OT is accounted for accordingly - Working in the creative industry made me realise that work-life balance isn't the most common. But at Left Profile, time after work is respected – no one really bothers you after work hours unless it's super urgent AND you get back the hours you OT for accordingly :)
Cons
1. Working hours can get a little crazy sometimes if there are events you have to attend. - This does not happen very often, but as a Media Intern, you have to accompany the company's artists to events (as a manager), which might start early in the morning or end pretty late at night. These events might take place on weekends too. - But you do get back the hours you work overtime! 2. As an intern, you need to be vocal about the things you want to do or try here. - Initially, I was very afraid to ask to try out different roles. I expected to be using a camera and filming actual videos, but that did not happen until about four months into my internship, after I requested to try it out. I do appreciate the management for being very flexible and open – they listened to my request, and because of that, I managed to get a pretty well-rounded experience as a Media Intern.
