Pros
Interesting projects, beautiful site (Berkeley hills), fun co-workers, never a dull day/every day is unique, collaboration with researchers from all around the world
Cons
Used to be an amazing place to work, but every year, things degraded. Extremely bureaucratic top down structure. Serious lack of accountability in some areas that prevented work from getting done efficiently. A few people seem to do all the work (lots of managers, very few workers on the ground and consequently workload for folks on the bottom is very heavy). Lots of taxpayer money wasted due to inefficiency, poor planning and ever-changing priorities/processes.
