Pros

Growth, resume builder. Anyone that sees you've stuck it out a long time with them will be happy to bring you on board and treat you better. Structure and systems you learn will help you manage a business, and employers are attracted to former employees of Landry's. I would recommend to someone who needs to learn more about the business and how to make a company money. That, they know How to do! I will forever be grateful for what I have learned and where my hard work got me with this company.

Cons

The reviews are spot on. Each one I read sounds like how my life used to be like. You sell your soul to Tilman. He is a smart businessman, but has forgotten his guests over the last several years. They have grown so big that they have gotten lost along the way. You are a slave to the almighty dollar. They can't retain managers because they drive them into the ground, then you work harder will less managers. Make labor, down in sales, with less management. Just do it! No options. You don't like your regionals, because they have to buy into the slave culture. You may want to get to the next level, but you'll learn you don't want their job very quickly. You can blame them, but the culture comes from the top, and fear is instilled in all of them. They become email bullies. They manage labor daily, and guest complaints when they hit 30 days. Oh and light bulbs when you actually see them. The culture they have on paper is great, but it is no more. Nobody is looking in the mirror, they blame the GM for managers leaving. Nobody will tell you what you're getting into, they will paint a picture of skipping through fields of sunflowers, then tell you you spent too much money on sunflowers. This company is going to continue to grow, but lose loyal guests and employees constantly. Marketing is crap at the store level. Facebook posts about national margarita day will not grow sales. You get an idea, push it up the chain, but there is no budget. Don't plan on interviewing your own management team, they wouldn't want you talking a warm body out of the job by actually finding out if they're up for the challenge. They only have faith in those who drink the cool aid, And the cool aid man is saying "OH NO!"
