Pros
Profit-sharing opportunity, which you don't see much of these days Compensation isn't bad compared to other companies, but the workload is. Preschool onsite, but I'd NEVER send my kid there!
Cons
First let me start off with the CEO and former CEO. They often scream and yell at the top of their lungs at people cussing like sailors. I witnessed this myself multiple times, including one time to two pregnant employees. I've seen them get in women's faces, throw things (not at people but still) and, no joke, stomp their feet up and down the hallways...or and did I mention there is a preschool onsite a few doors down from the CEOs office where this all goes down? It's a bizarre environment that is hard to explain until you live it. Everyone wants out but not everyone gets out. They lock you into something so specialized that you can't leave easily. They expect, yes expect, you to provide and answer your personal (not company paid) cell phone whenever you are on vacation, sick or out of the office. The workload doesn't allow for time off - you are expected to cover your desk even when you are out so there is NO work/life balance. Too many to list all, but depending on what department you are in here are a few: No room for growth or new ideas Want new ideas to grow the business but shoot them all down because they know everything CEO thinks he knows everything, including Marketing 45 mins lunch - no more and no less and only at 12:45pm Use an illegal points systems to keep track of employees time off, sick, etc. If you are thinking of taking a job at Lakeshore, run for your life!
