Pros
Professional, full-service catering company. If this is your field of work, as it was mine for quite some time, you can learn a lot from La Prima. For the most part, all of the staff are super friendly, kitchen and office staff. There are always opportunities to learn and do more.
I also very much like their green status and environmental efforts.
Cons
The hours are not great, working 9+ hours per day. The pay is barely competitive. Lunch is not free, they charge $3.00 per day out of your paycheck.
The President needs to adjust his attitude. He initially comes off as very kind and friendly to his staff, but it's a thin veneer. It is clear he feels he is above many of the staff. As a customer service representative, we were expected to have the coffee supplies (cups, creamer, sugar, stirrers, etc.) for the president every morning. At least on one occasion, I was scolded for not having cups available for him. On another occasion, he scolded me for being away from my desk. Let me get this straight, I don't mind doing stuff beyond my scope of work for the boss. I do mind when she/he isn't willing to do it themselves. For example, I make coffee for my current boss every single day. But if I don't or am late guess what happens....she makes it herself. What a revalation.
