Pros

-THE PEOPLE. Wow. There is no place like LIFT. It was a joy to come into work everyday and spend time with some of SF's top creative & strategic talent. -Valued no matter your "level", wasn't a strict hierarchy of roles -Opportunities & mentorship given to all positions when asked for -Smaller team gives you more opportunity to explore where you want to grow within the company -Diversity of projects: there were opportunities for new projects coming in often, not just typical ad agency work. LIFT focuses on both one-off email/DM/social campaigns AND longer-term strategic work, presenting big new ideas to our clients -Well-respected by clients (many have been loyal for YEARS) -Many employees stick around, great longevity -Gorgeous office in the heart of FiDi in SF: views, natural light, fun & spacious -Good work/life balance. People worked out during lunch, loved hanging out during happy hours, didn't need to be "butt in seat" 9-5, but still had the expectation to get work done

Cons

-Need more diversity of clients (some are in similar industries/competitors) -Copywriting not as valued as design, some friction between creative & account teams-- can feel as though account leads talk down toward creatives at time. -CEO needs to step out of the nitty-gritty day to day ops and trust employees more

Pros

I was an intern for LIFT Agency for 4 months. I worked hands-on with the CEO, Managing Partner and Vice-President, along with different Account Managers and Supervisors. They didn't have to tell me the way agencies work or what they were up to because I could see it for myself. That was the best thing I could've asked for as an intern. A handful of employers have worked there for 5+ and even 10+ years and have said that this is their favorite agency to work at. There is no intimidation or hierarchy going on here. The people at LIFT are also nice and hilarious.

Cons

The interview process is the only thing that could be seen as a con for some. You meet with a higher up and then with different groups of people you'll be working directly with. I didn't mind answering repeated questions because I'd rather answer them myself then have someone regergitate my answers after. They care about your experience almost as much as if you will fit into their culture. Just be yourself! They do care about work experience, even as an intern, so make sure you are prepared.

Pros

The design team seemed happy.

Cons

The director of tech was one of the worst people I've worked with in my career. Dismissive and rude. A poor communicator. Non-existent collaboration. Also rusty on new technology. Go somewhere else if you can.
