Pros
LAPD offers many different assignments and areas, and overall is a great organization to work for. For the most part, you are able to do what you want (as far as what type of police work you enjoy) whether it is gangs, traffic, motors, flying helicopters, narcotics, vice, recruiting, swat, etc.
Cons
The worst part is that the Chief answers to the mayor, and personal agendas of the mayor can get in the way. Also, it would be nice if we promoted people based on merit and not as much on demographics.
