Pros

1. A highly creative and talented team of teachers with diverse educational backgrounds in teaching English, Music, Performing Arts, Fine Arts. Met some amazing people during my time. 2. Truly international team - treated with respect by management, colleagues, and parents. 3. Plenty of room to grow and freedom to plan lessons and even implement new ideas. 4. The Headmaster has been around since its inception and he is a wonderful mentor, leader, and guide to freshers to learn things the Kspace way! Just by observing him in his lessons, one can learn a great deal. 5. Clear direction- Plenty of graphic lesson plans archived for the benefit of new teachers are readily available in the office. 6. Afternoon Lessons are pre-planned and prepped for you in case you have a busy morning. 7. Fantastic Charity events and Park fests.

Cons

1. It's a must to learn to do things the "Kspace way" to avoid getting overwhelmed. 2. No rigid roles - unless predecided. 3. Don’t trust the school grapevine. 4. Be flexible.

Pros

- Staff are encouraged to be creative as teachers, artists, educators, and to grow as humans. - Lots of efforts to support local and national charitable organisations: giving back is very important to the founder, clients, staff, and community -- and it is meaningful to work in a place where children are being passed these values! - If you can dream it and build it, you can do it! - The children are sweet, and they learn so quickly. They look up to their teachers and form quick bonds. - Administrative support with immigration, and lots of friends to help with adjusting to life in Japan, if you are joining as a foreigner. - Beautiful location; outdoor space on the rooftop. - Wages are very competitive! - The staff are very artistically talented and inspiring. - Parents are appreciative and kind.

Cons

Working in an early childhood setting requires a lot of energy and the ability to think on one's feet and be flexible. You must always think several steps ahead about children's safety, about their best interests, and you must be communicative, neat, responsible, and always have a positive forward-facing demeanor. This can be difficult so this type of work isn't for everyone, but the challenges at Kspace are not unique to this school. They are universal, in my opinion.
