Pros
Nice scheduling, nothing too late/too early. Best if pharmacy is full-staffed, if not then it’s stressful. You can go grab things like snacks from the store, if you need. They pay for your pharmacy technician license. On the job training is provided. Once you become a CPhT you can give vaccines in Indiana, and you get a pay raise.
Cons
Difficult to get time off when you want if you are full time, less difficult if part time, but still a challenge. I can’t speak for all locations, but if you’re part time and request a certain amount of hours per week, they usually accommodate that but sometimes they will start increasing hours. Patients can be very rude. Most pharmacists (at my store) will let you stop servicing people after you have helped everyone who was there in line before close, but sometimes will make you keep working/helping people who have arrived after close if they arrived while people who arrived before close were still being helped. A lot of standing. Sometimes you have to go out and do a promotional table in the produce section which is aggravating for both customers and pharmacy employees (and probably regular store employees).
