Pros
I will give them points for these things: My coworkers were very nice. They honor the major holidays. Some management was friendly and supportive They worked well with my school schedule. You can gain experience in a variety of departments, so it's not completely the same work everyday.
Cons
Working retail-typical problems ( I understand experiences do vary in retail): Low pay either at or within the range of the minimum wage. The company grudgingly gives you a low 15% discount, I have received much better from other places. Lack of real training, expected to know it all from the beginning. No respect from high management, unprofessional. Understaffed, having to cover two departments by myself and "running around with my head cut off." The rumors are true. Sell those credit cards. Nothing else matters it's only about the numbers; employees are dispensable and not a valuable asset to their company. Raises? Maybe a few cents each year if you do well. In other words "forget it." Overall Kohl's is like any other major retailer posting some fake positive reviews on websites like this. They pretend to be a great company, but in reality the company does not give two cents about their employees or even their customers. They have a bad reputation.
