Pros

I'm not really sure anymore.

Cons

Over the past few years, my experience at this workplace has unfortunately taken a negative turn, evolving into what I would now characterize as a highly toxic environment. This is a stark contrast to my initial positive experience, as I previously found this to be a workplace I genuinely enjoyed. The primary driver of this deterioration is a perceived disparity in the treatment of employees, which appears to be significantly influenced by a system of favoritism within management. This has manifested in several concerning ways that have negatively impacted morale and productivity. Firstly, there has been an inequitable distribution of workload. Certain individuals are consistently assigned a disproportionately large number of tasks. For instance, I have observed instances where a single employee is solely responsible for cleaning a substantial number of kennels across multiple areas of the facility, even when other staff members appear to have the capacity to assist. Secondly, there seems to be a lack of adequate support and accommodation for employee health concerns. Instances have occurred where health-related absences have resulted in disciplinary action, indicating a concerning lack of understanding or flexibility regarding legitimate medical needs. Finally, communication practices are inconsistent and often appear to be prioritized for a select group of employees. This inconsistent flow of information and perceived preferential treatment further contributes to the toxic atmosphere. This shift in the work environment has led to a growing concern that financial considerations may have become the overriding priority, potentially at the expense of employee well-being and, more concerningly, the optimal care of the animals. Given these significant challenges and the deeply negative impact they have had on the overall work experience over the last few years, I can no longer recommend this workplace as a desirable place of employment in its current state.
