Pros
Great local managers. Have a existing base of customer and create a decent fairly stable income in a year or so. Benefits are decent probably better then most in today’s economy. Customer base is good to work with. Good flexibility as long as you do the job of getting collections and regular sales. Good job security at this level if your doing at least an average job. you can earn a trip every other years. Be nice if annually but looking forward to the Dominican republic in July.
Cons
Lapses (people not paying there premiums) hit you negatively weather you sold them or not. Even 10 year old policies that lapse will have a negative effect on your income and mean you have to make that much more sales. Means even doing ok in writing sales can be negated by a larger customer that can’t pay that month making your income go south quickly. This creates a good bit of extra stress. Though you have an existing book of business to sell to and get referrals from there is currently nothing driving any leads from marketing. Products are very limited and lose sales because we are not competitive in many areas. Upper Management in constant flux and have lost focus on customer service. Only care about sales with not much help in getting more not that I don’t expect to have to sell and create opportunities my self.
