Pros

nothing really, but if i must, the campus is beautiful.

Cons

Incompetent department head makes questionable decisions based on his personal preferences, ignoring all the input and recommendation by the faculty members. He lies and blames the department and his dean for the decisions unfavorable to the party he has to make an announcement to. Never follows through what he has promised. Turn over rate of the faculty in the department is rising as his teture started as a department head. Recently announced his resignation as the department head after threatened by his colleagues reporting his incompetence to the dean, but the damage too great to fix now. The dean also ignored multiple complaints made by the faculty members. His lack of interest and willingness for problem solving let the situation escalated.

Pros

- fantastic leave! PTO, Sick, Holiday, maternity - amazing people and students. Ranked high for friendliest students for a reason - tuition assistance for one place semester if you're continuing education - once your foot is in the door, potential to use internal connection to move up within the university

Cons

- pay could be more competitive but makes up for it somewhat in leave - top heavy administration, former leadership made uprooting changes and didn't see the change through; left university scrambling - resistance to change causes siloes. - structural fiscal issues that doesn't work well for interdisciplinary, collaborative work - great coworkers move up the university or leave and don't stay long
