      Pros

      As a family-owned company, they think long-term and they focus on creating sustainable value. They have a strong product development team and cutting edge technology for plant breeding.

      Cons

      The company treasures its seed breeding at the expense of everything else. Their corporate structure reminds one of 1980's conglomerate dinosaurs. Senior managers harp about innovation but stifle it with top-down decision-making. One is constantly surprised at the lack of transparency within the company's business units and research projects. There is very weak discipline and internal unity, so one also sees lots of pet projects. Overall, the company's internal organization is not healthy.

      Benefits are alright and you get some holidays off.

      Cons

      There’s no room to advance within department, and favoritism plays a huge role in your success here. Promotion is rare and expectations are high, so you’ll probably do a lot more work than you are compensated for. Some areas have extreme and dangerous working conditions which are ignored by supervisors/management. The Tangent facility has a really high turnover rate and there seems to be company-wide production issues as well.
