Insurance was really expensive and takes like 8 weeks to start, the hospital itself wasn’t following osha regulations and lied to osha inspectors when they were reported (though they did have to go through some training and improve on some things, so this might have improved.)
There is a serious lack of trust on the part of upper management. While you accrue a lot of PTO, it isn’t always easy to actually get time off. Getting called in was a regular occurrence (I personally put in 60-70 hours a week, regularly), and it can be nearly impossible to call in when you’re sick.
Communication is expected from hourly staff, but not so much from corporate or upper management.
