Pros

remote working (but this can also be a con) great team of advisors

Cons

Work life balance is very poor, even though the role can be conducted remotely - which says a lot. The immediate hr advisory team are great, however for the low pay (which really does not keep up with cost of living), workload and lack of recognition - i'd highly recommend joining a smaller firm or a different Big 4 company, because the lack of support, recognition and lack of genuine thanks for the hard work the hr advisory team put in will affect your mental health. In this role and company, you are squeezed and squeezed until you cannot be squeezed anymore.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
