Pros

- If you're lucky enough to end up in a team with various ongoing projects, you can work on different projects, developing skills in several fields without becoming too skilled on just topic - There are a lot of young people so, even if with clients you have to act in vary formal way, with colleagues you're likely to develop a friendly relationship - as every year there is a performance review, salary can grow pretty quickly

Cons

- you will work long hours and are likely to work on weekends with very short notice - teams can be understaffed and you don't get to have a senior profile that mentors you and teaches you how to carry out a specific activity; in other works, most likely you will have to figure problems out alone directly with the client, which can be very stressful

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
