Cons
In December 2019 I had received an email from Jump Entrepreneurs asking to interview with me and I had agreed. Their company was shady to begin with, their ‘office’ was based above a betting shop and was tiny. I interviewed with a strange man and he was very vague on the details, I had previously looked on Glassdoor and seen that some people were saying it was a door to door sales role, I had two separate employees reassure me otherwise. In the interview they said they loved me and wanted to have me back the next day to do a trial day from 10am-8:30pm (strange hours), I reluctantly agreed to do so on a day that I wasn’t working. The day that went ahead I was brought around a very poor and quite dangerous council area and was made to wear formal business wear. Throughout we were going in and out of people’s homes without any protection and trying to get them to switch their electricity providers. The day was very long and draining I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I had been made to write out reasons why they should hire me and send it over to them etc & an exam on everything I had learnt that day. I told the manager at the end of the day that I did not want to do the job and he attacked me saying I would never get anything better, and eventually convinced me to take the job. I was also advised that this role was commission based only. I left my part time role and took this job, bearing in mind that it is 6 DAYS A WEEK and 11 hours a day, 6 hours on Saturdays. I started the job properly in January and was immediately startled at the unprofessionalism within the meetings (loud music, shouting, high 5s). We went out again, but this time to a working class area and we (my manager and I) were not able to make a single deal that day, despite working for over 11 hours. Meaning that for 11 hours of absolute hard work, being on your feet all day in harsh weather I had made no money at all. EVEN WORSE To make matters even worse the ‘commission based pay’ is all put into your manager’s name for the first two weeks of your job, meaning you work two weeks (12 days 100+ hours) for FREE whilst paying for other expenses such as travel etc, as that is not included. Bunch of scammers dressed up in fancy suits.
