Pros

The CS team was amazing. Free lunches sometimes a perk.

Cons

They cancelled WFH for support staff, with no consideration of how it may impact our work/life balance, physical or mental health. CS team are expected to work in the office 5 days a week, but only be allowed to park twice a week. CS team have barely any room for growth, not that the opportunity comes up either. Pay is below average for the amount of work we do. No recognition awarded for the hard work, despite the fact we are the ones who are helping customer's daily. Senior Management being emotionally manipulative when talking to staff. Can't afford bonuses, but can afford to keep the alcohol stocked. When expressing my reasons for leaving, People and Culture did state it was my personal choice to stay as long as I did.

Thank you for dropping by. With changes to our working model for the Customer Support team specifically, ensuring the safety of our customer data is of paramount importance to Jumbo as a tech business. With access to millions of Aussie's personal information, making operational choices to protect this data is something our business is comfortable with - including the requirement to work from the office. We have many staff benefits including social clubs, Friday drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and a healthy learning and development fund. When reviewing exit interview feedback, it does appear that a recent CSO leaver stated that "they were not interested in upskilling or gaining further qualifications". Unfortunately, if this was you, this does limit options when looking for career progression. Lastly, we appreciate that travelling to work can also be a challenge, especially if living at a distance. An on-site carpark is a huge perk for many buildings in the city fringe, and we are conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the Toowong train station. To echo our People & Culture team's sentiments, we are unable to persuade our people to stay, and encourage all team members to make the right choice for their personal preferences and family. We wish you all the best!

Pros

Great people, a genuinely supportive culture, and a lot of trust and flexibility in how you work, very outcome focused. There’s a strong focus on wellbeing, work-life balance, and creating a positive employee experience, which makes Jumbo a rewarding place to work oh and the free lunches are great. The work is meaningful, teams are collaborative, and there’s a real sense that people care about doing things well and pushing each other to deliver.

Cons

As with any evolving business, priorities can change quickly and that can sometimes create ambiguity, but it also comes with opportunities to shape improvements.

Thank you for this, and congratulations on five-plus years with us. It means a lot to hear that the culture, flexibility, and quality of people still land the way they're intended to. You're right that the pace of change can create ambiguity, and your advice around communication, development, and clearer processes as we grow is well noted. It's something we're actively working on. Glad you're here, and thanks for taking the time to share this.

Pros

Jumbo is a forward-thinking, progressive company that constantly strives to innovate. As you would expect, not every initiative succeeds however, they are always exploring new ways to improve. The company fosters trust by empowering employees to work autonomously, take ownership, and achieve their goals. For those who are willing to embrace change and work hard, Jumbo offers a fulfilling career with a strong focus on personal and professional growth, supported by generous learning and development budgets. The unique culture includes perks like full-time chefs preparing gourmet lunches daily, monthly wellness reimbursements and plenty more. It is truly a standout workplace.

Cons

Jumbo thrives on change and results, so if you're not comfortable with autonomy or struggle to adapt, this might not be the best fit for you. A strong work ethic and the ability to embrace change are essential to succeed here.

Thank you for sharing your feedback – we appreciate you taking the time to give us your honest perspective. We’re glad you value our focus on innovation and the trust we place in our people to work independently. Giving teams the freedom to own their roles and grow their skills is important to us, and we’re proud to support this through practical benefits like learning budgets, wellness allowances, and in-house chef meals. It’s great to know these efforts help make Jumbo a positive place to work. You’re right that our pace and focus on results may not suit everyone. We aim to balance change with support through open communication, mentoring, and training. Thank you also for recognising our leadership team. We believe good managers are vital to maintaining our culture, and we’ll keep working to equip them with what they need to guide their teams well. We’re lucky to have you here and will keep striving to make Jumbo a workplace where everyone can do their best work.
