Pros

At first, one would feel as if they are doing something good, by helping families secure childcare and tutoring--but this is not the case. They give you a cell phone, but only because you are required to respond to families 24/7.

Cons

It is hard to work for and believe in a company that basically rips off their clients. They claim to "build stronger families" but they really just "build stronger rich families". The only people who don't think it's a ripoff are the owners, rich parents who don't care, and clients who don't know. The company is only concerned about making huge profits by charging families double and triple what they are paying their nannies and tutors. Managers are so overworked, underpaid, and stressed out from having to meet sales goals. If a family suggests that the cost is a little too high, managers are told to either push them and make them feel bad until they give in, or be rude to them and move on. Owners only support managers who make them the most money, regardless of how hard you work. I've seen managers show prejudice towards families they automatically assume cannot afford the services. Their hiring practices for nannies and tutors also boarder on unethical. They are a staffing company, yet there is zero HR training or education. In addition, they offer bare minimum benefits (if any, and only to FT employees), little to no home/work life balance, and little to no advancement opportunities. After many years with this company, I realized I could no longer be apart of it. If you have any morals at all, you will stay far away from this company.

Pros

I've worked with Jovie Newport Beach since 2022. I started as an on-call nanny and worked my way up into administration. I am now in charge of recruitment, event coordination, and general management. I love the company culture and encourage families to use our services and for potential nannies to apply! I have met many great people through the Jovie network! It has been great!

Cons

I can't think of any cons!

Pros

Help find you a family to work with. I could see how this could perhaps be great for part time

Cons

LOW PAY for the job. After 3 years with Jovie, I was getting paid $16/hr and my full-time family was paying somewhere from $26-28/hr. They told my nanny family I was getting higher raises than I was. MUCH fairer companies out there. No PTO due to "not being salaried employees" even though that's not how PTO works! Constantly nagged about logging in my hours even though I was always on top of it. Going through them was a pain. Don't recommend. Always wondered if why they rebranded from College Nannies and Sitters was to try to separate from all the negative reviews.
