Pros

- Plenty of hands-on experience with marine navigation and satellite communication equipments. - Can gain good knowledge regarding various products. - Opportunity to work overseas short-term. - Opportunity to learn various maker brands both locally and internationally. - Able to communicate with ship captains and crews and learn different cultures and ethical viewpoints.

Cons

- Poor management (need to cancel leaves due to poor schedule of manpower) - The office ambience feel depressing and demotivating. Everyone only converse in mandarin which makes other races feel distant and alienated. - Long and odd hours. Expect to do 60+ hours of OT every month. Say goodbye to your personal and family time. - People always talk behind each other, doesn't address issues directly which lead to snowballing effect. - Not a fresh graduate friendly place. You will feel lost during your first few months here. They have this "read the manual" mindset. No proper training structure. - Too many old traditions, no room for improvement. No one will try to change the company old ways. - Place for retirement.

Pros

Privileged to have worked directly with the General Manager directly. Showed me the rope patiently. Allowed a lot of freedom to be innovative at work.

Cons

- Sales representatives were kings. All kinds of behaviors they displayed were condoned because they bring in the $$. Last heard four top sales reps setup a business together and is now direct competitor to the company. Really unfortunate for the company. But the founder and the general manager are both persistent fighters. - Salary is low by all standards. - All key roles were taken by men. - Founder is a Christian and liked to bring faith into corporate discussion which made many of us not comfortable.
