Jamestown Response
11yI am Matt Bronfman and I am the CEO of Jamestown. We take employee feedback very seriously and I want to take a moment to respond to this comment. Briefly, we have the good fortune to have grown quickly in the last few years, by over several billion in assets under management. But that growth presents challenges. We want to be and must remain entrepreneurial. But at the same time we must acknowledge and establish more formal institutions. We are working hard right now to improve our processes. In the last few months, we have conducted town hall meetings, established a suggestion box (and rewarded employees for participating), forged guiding principles, instituted formal training for leadership, and we are implementing 360 reviews of leadership. We are committed to having a collaborative culture, one that puts employees first. We already have done a great deal and are doing more in the coming months. I do strongly disagree with the criticism of our HR Department. What I don't think the writer sees is the extent to which HR has been working hard to implement the changes noted above. HR has been instrumental in so much more, including our new book club and in us having some of the best health benefits in the industry.
Thanks for the feedback and I hope you will work with me to make a Jamestown an even better place to work in the future.
