Pros

The only pros about SciQuest would be that they offer a salary, so if you need a job, it's OK to work there while you look for something better (which shouldn't be hard to find). The company also has the best work-life balance you could have, which is great for being able to interview other places, which is very convenient.

Cons

Just don't work at SciQuest. Ask anyone in recruiting in the RTP area, and they have heard of how bad SciQuest is. When you interview at SciQuest, you may ask about Glassdoor or why the turnover is so ridiculously high. You will be told that Glassdoor just has a few bitter ex-employees who write repetitive reviews. You will be told that the turnover is high because people just don't like the change from a small company to a mid-size shop. I can't speak for the other Glassdoor posts, but I am a real, former Questie. I left in 2014, and this is my first review. The turnover is high because people hate working there. They hate that the CEO belittles people in public. They hate working for a place that is nothing more than a blame game. After three years, I could not take it anymore, and I left. Several months into my new company, and I only regret that I stuck around SciQuest as long as I did. So addressing the main areas on Glassdoor: Career Opportunities: the company is very flat, so you aren't going to have many chances to move up. However, because so many people leave, you may get to fill an empty role. That will give you a few weeks without a finger pointing your way. Compensation and Benefits: Comp is on the lower side of average. The benefits are terrible, however. They have 401k matching that might be as low as startups. Canes hockey tickets? I guess that's a perk, but I cared more about being able to retire comfortably. Work-life balance: as I said before, that is great. However, it's great because most people there just don't care, and they will work about 35 hours a week. No one pays any attention, either. So use that time to interview for other jobs. Senior Management: does this refer to the 50 Vice Presidents in a company of 500 people? If so, the vast majority of them are terrible. They do not know how to lead, they cannot run a company, and they are only in those positions so that they can grab a fancy VP title to put on their resumes. Culture & Values: To even give people an option of more than 1 star for SciQuest is laughable. As I was told back in 2011 at my first week on the job "Do not trust HR, here" Some of your co-workers are great. I could not name a VP that I would want to see in another company. That should say it all. Do not work at SciQuest. Unless you are a a terrible human, you deserve better.

Pros

The people - that is, the actual people doing all the work. I met some of my favorite people ever working here, and it's the only reason I don't entirely regret the experience.

Cons

Some of the worst leadership hires I've seen. And when things didn't work out? They fired them and somehow found even more incompetent replacements, all while pushing out the brilliant people who actually kept JAGGAER afloat. If Vista Equity Partners wants ROI, they should probably start with the outdated tech (don't get me started on "JAI" lol). Or maybe an actual GTM strategy? But no, surely a few more bad exec hires, layoffs, and outsourcing rounds will help you on the next Gartner Magic Quadrant. Fingers crossed!
