Pros

.... They have free coffee.....

Cons

Glass Ceiling, will sell you the position in the interview and make plenty of empty promises. Management is super shady. I've been employed here for 3 years and have yet to receive even as much as a cost of living raise. they offer no bonuses (not even for Christmas) the company pays for nothing, not even a Christmas party; everything is pot luck. If you have issues with harassment and bring it to your supervisor's attention, it gets swept under the rug and ignored as if it never happened. ALL management are unappreciative and see their employees as just a number. The other divisions of Jacobs appear to be an ideal job... the telecommunications side is the complete opposite.

Pros

If you need equipment for your safety (ropes, harnesses, climbing gear, etc.) they will provide it for you. Really flexible about you taking time off so long as you give notice. You are provided with a company phone, some people are provided with a company laptop.

Cons

Management treats you like a number. Without any thought, they just laid off two employees right before the holidays, one had nine years in and another 5 years. Then, a week later, they hired two new employees, even though work has been on a decline. Pay is mediocre because of all the time you spend from not working due to lack of work. There are many promises made of "work to come", but you are left in the dark when you are sitting around and really need work. There is a HUGE lack of communication when it comes to getting updates, whether it be about the next day's schedule or logistics of a job. There is a huge "get it done" attitude, but there isn't proper training provided to employees. They simply tell you to figure it out once you get out into the field. Safety is preached here hardcore, but once you start working here you discover that safety is secondary. When it is crunch time and a project needs to get done, they will turn a blind eye to everything.
