Pros

Everyone is generally very friendly and kind to work with. Security is a top priority for the agency, which has been a huge comfort over the past few years. I appreciate the incorporation of Judaism and Jewish values throughout all facets of the agency.

Cons

Upper management is not willing to listen/if they do, they have no interest in following through with recommendations from the staff who are "on the ground". Their bottom line is more important than the actual success of their programs. There is a very community-focused/oriented approach that management has, and they use that camaraderie as a way to guilt staff past their boundaries. Annual raises don't cover the cost of inflation. Staff are consistently overworked, underpaid, and undervalued. Their health insurance plan for families basically eats up your entire paycheck.

Pros

If you're Jewish, you'll love to shabbat shalom out early on Fridays after being served a complimentary breakfast of bagels and lox. Double holidays off. Extended PTO. Benefits and 401k if you rise high enough.

Cons

Gossip. No respect for personal space within the office. 1 on 1s feel like therapy sessions. All departments are inner circles. Each department waits until the last minute to execute a deadline. Poor communication. Will throw you under the bus. The lack of basic technology knowledge. Stong focus on outside agency appearances only. 100% a puppet show. No kids means less benefits. 90% female staff with little diversity. Claims to be inclusive, but locations like Horowich are strictly ultra Orthodox, unwelcoming to LGBTQIA+ prospects.
