Pros
Co-workers are incredible. I don't know why or how, but everyone who works there is a great human being. Definitely one of the best customer service crews to be a part of.
Cons
Last-minute shifts, poor scheduling and no training in how to deal with unreasonable/rude/violent customers. Most of the time, the manager is absent, and at times the supervisors are absent for hours while counting stock/doing managerial tasks downstairs. Can be completely overwhelming and grating. On top of this, upper management asks MINIMUM WAGE EMPLOYEES to be "on-call" for shifts so that they 1) can't plan their paychecks and 2) can't schedule shifts for other jobs in the time they might be scheduled at JP Licks. If they are not called in, they are NOT PAID. Employees receive one hour's notice for whether they are required to work-- for many employees, their commute to the store is an hour or greater. They may take the train all the way to Harvard and be out of 7-8 hours' pay.
