Pros

I've been working at Ipswitch for almost 3 years, and I have to say that everyone at the company has been a joy to work with. Management is honest and clear about expectations. I trust everyone I work with and that's a rarity in itself. Ipswitch's culture is about it's people and treating employees with utmost respect, and that is reflected by a customer base that is extremely loyal and happy. I've had the opportunity for growth right out of the gates which has been a huge motivator. I've worked at companies that professional growth meant leaving and Ipswitch is not that, nor does it want to be that. Ipswitch cherishes its employees and does what it can for everyone to be successful. So far, it's been the best company I've ever worked for and I look forward to years of growth here.

Cons

Not so much a con as it is the fact that Ipswitch is positioning itself for future growth. Ipswitch has gone through a lot of changes in the past few years and tough decisions had to be made. Having started here during an interim period of change, I know that organizational change has not benefited everyone, but I also heard of some of the business practices that were taking place for several years before I showed up, so honestly it's all been for the best for the company and its future, if what I heard was true. Some products that are not necessarily considered flagship have been neglected a bit but is on everyone's radar now and we're trying to fix that across the board.

Pros

Ipswitch Corporate is situated in the ultimate location in Burlington, MA, where it overlooks route 95 and Cambridge st. It's connected to the building that Microsoft is in, which offers FREE access to their gym to all employed in these buildings. The views are spectacular - beautiful sunrises in the morning, clear view to Boston, and planes navigating to the Air Force Base. The culture at Ipswitch is unrivaled by the way they interact with each other. Caring, thoughtful, kind, inclusive, and energizing people certainly motivate you to go way above and beyond while doing your work. There is a generous benefits package that includes the best healthcare, dental, education, time off and bonus that I haven't seen in quite some time. They offer free drinks, snacks, and catered lunches and get-together at various locations to help strengthen the collegial bond that really was the core of the culture. All levels of management were very approachable and attentive and would help you sort out any issues you were facing whether it was work or personal based. Every department has amazing team members who genuinely care for their work and their colleagues. I've never seen anyone sitting alone at lunch. This was a rock-star team of smart and creative individuals who met and exceeded their business and personal goals.

Cons

They sold out to a public company called Progress Software.

Pros

Team based attitude, smart people, easy commute, great technology, agile development organization, strong sales leadership, huge customer base that enjoys our products. Lots of opportunity to promote change to add significant value. Management is approachable and accessible. Ipswitch is a growing and profitable company that is looking to grow based on new leadership, great technology and superior product strategy. The company is very open to using newer online applications that help you do your job easier, something that is liberating. They are hiring many people. MAC friendly environment as well as BYOD.

Cons

Although the bike path is about a 1/4 mile away, there is no real walking destination for lunch or "walking" meetings. You need to make short drives to restaurants. There is a cafe in adjacent building and waxy o'connors across the street. They still have cubicles in many areas, but looking to move to a more modern open layout soon.
