Pros

The kids are great.

Cons

The kids are great but management is not. Last minute timetable changes, and the expectation of the tutor to bend over backwards to meet their expectations. The tutors are paid the same as other ESL competition, such as APAX. However, the responsibilities and expectations are through the roof with no compensation. They sell a great package to their clients, but the clients are lied to and so are the tutors. Dishonest and terrible company!

We believe this review was written by a friend and former tutor in support of the review above, and both reviews serve the aim of damaging the centre’s reputation in retaliation for ITG making an unavoidable redundancy. We feel it’s an appalling and completely false accusation that we lie to our clients or tutors, and we note that no evidence has been provided to support this claim. What is true is that we have high expectations. Our students are dealing with a pressurised academic environment at school and often the exams they sit with our support will help determine their future pathways. What we ask of our tutors is real care and commitment for the students they work with. We feel strongly that 95% of the time our tutors more than live up to this challenge. This year, we are very proud of our caring and committed team and we feel the relationships they build with our students are deeply rewarding for both sides. It does not always work though, and we appreciate that sometimes ITG is not the best fit for those seeking a more non-committal approach who may be better suited elsewhere. We make no judgments of this, but in the end of the day, we strongly believe our students deserve an engaged and dedicated tutor and we have to place their welfare above all else.

Pros

Pay is great Working hours, even at their fullest possible, are still good (25 hours a week) with the work day starting after lunch Staff are extremely supportive, especially the admin/HR team - Ha, Alex and Sue were amazing when it came to handling everything from visas to bank accounts to phone numbers

Cons

Holidays a little inflexible - you're constrained more or less to taking your holiday in line with the international school holidays (christmas + half term I think) Nothing that major otherwise

Pros

Warm, friendly and supportive environment, making my work there a very enjoyable time. Perfect opportunity to live and work in Vietnam, an amazing country. ITG made it all easy to get a visa and work there stress free.

Cons

Inflexible holiday dates meant traveling further afield was restricted to preset holiday dates

Thanks for your review and it's great to hear you enjoyed your time with ITG! We are aware that working with International students does impact the holidays we are able to arrange - we have put 'flexi-days' in place for tutors to be able to have some more flexibility with their time off if needed.
