Pros
- Small, close-knit organisation with people willing to help you out during times of difficulty - Plenty of opportunity for travel inside the country - Good scope of working with different NGOs through various projects
Cons
- Top management mostly have no idea how to efficiently manage teams and distribute workload. Most of the senior management have been in the organisation since its early days when number of projects were not very high. With the increasing number of projects and activities they are not suited for effective team management and lack the clarity and leadership abilities required to motivate their employees and enhance their productivity. - If you are looking for personal growth and professional development then look somewhere else. This place is filled with incompetent managers who will completely ruin your work life balance with untenable deadlines, lack of proper planning and logistics. Working weekends and during holidays is commonplace here. - Unimaginable levels of nepotism, particularly at the upper levels. If you can get on the good side of the senior management then they will go out of their way to cover up your incompetencies and unfairly pass on your work to others. Deplorable work culture where the favourites are shielded from everything despite their poor performance and negative impact on others who are doing their job. - If you like saying yes to whatever your boss tells you; if you do not prefer autonomy and independant thought; if you are happy to barked orders at and like to follow like a machine then this place is for you. Just keep your head low and follow orders. If you do not mind others being unfair advantage because of their relationship with their bosses then you will be very happy here. - Poor work environment and values. There is no proper infrastructure or system in place which makes it impossible for the upper management to be held accountable. - The human resources department is a joke. Expect no clear guidlines or support from them. - You will be expected to work holidays and weekends but most of the times do not expect any recognition for it - monetary or otherwise.
