Pros

The team I️ work with on a daily basis is amazing! We have built strong relationships of trust and have worked hard to create a positive work space in our small realm of influence.

Cons

The company culture has become very negative and has taken a steady dive ever since we have had a new CEO start with us a year ago. They have taken away our freedom of choice in many aspects-from no longer carrying/allowing food products that contain sugar (even such things as honey roasted peanuts), to mandating inflexible work schedules across the entire system which has negatively impacted hundreds of employees’ lives, to implementing a new/inefficient/expensive software system that has increased workloads, stress, and created a myriad of safety concerns for our patients. There have also been hiring freezes creating the inability to rehire for key positions when someone has left the position, as well as restrictions on overtime (for positions that would be paid an overtime rate) during this time of overwork and overwhelm. We are continually being asked to do more with less and less and less...it has become exhausting.

Pros

There are many mission-driven caregivers who genuinely care about patients and want to provide high-quality behavioral health support. I appreciated the opportunity to work in an area connected to telehealth, crisis response, and access to care. The work itself can be meaningful, and I believe many employees are trying to do the right thing for patients and communities.

Cons

In my experience, the department culture was not psychologically safe. Feedback and performance concerns were not handled in a way that was clear, consistent, or supportive. I left feeling that the performance process was more punitive than developmental, and I did not feel meaningfully supported by leadership or HR during a difficult employment transition. The experience affected my emotional well-being and made me much more cautious about workplace culture and management practices.
