Pros
I interned at the Dialogue part-time for about four months, and had an excellent relationship with my supervisors. They made it easy to get to know their department, and shared plenty of information about the projects they were working on (even when I was not directly involved). They were very flexible with my schedule, which was very nice as a full-time student, and did their best to make me feel valued as a part of the team. I had the opportunity to develop a few projects almost entirely on my own, which has been great fuel for job interviews, and was always encouraged to take the time to learn more - whether that meant reading the daily newsletter, watching tutorials on computer coding, or attending an event that was relevant to the work we were doing.
Cons
I did not get to know many of the staff who did not work in my department, and felt a bit disconnected from the organization as a whole. This meant that my exposure to potential job opportunities within other parts of the office was very limited.
