Less structured than large companies- Requires employees to be self-motivated and goal-oriented. Starting salaries are usually low; adjusted after you prove your value to the company. Can be slow to terminate employees that are dead wood.

Low pay/benefits Poor management (a lot of which is held in the hands of a married couple who run the show…not to mention managers who are unqualified to be in mgmt positions) Unhelpful co-workers…they will throw you to the wolves and set you up for failure by not properly training or educating you for the tasks they assign to you.
