Pros

You gain relevant work experience

Cons

There’s really no shortage of drawbacks when it comes to this organization. First off, everyone has to spend five days a week on-site, even though the company is capable of functioning otherwise. Power outages occur anywhere from six to nine times daily, leading to faulty sockets and potentially damaging employees’ personal devices that are plugged in. Speaking of devices, employees are expected to provide their own rather than using company-issued ones, which means if something gets damaged due to those pesky outages, it’s coming out of their pockets. Plus, the favoritism really stands out, especially towards those higher up in the hierarchy. And let’s talk about the Wi-Fi. For a tech company that relies on cloud services and demands physical presence, it’s shocking how often the internet goes down. Salaries can also be delayed without much information from management, even when employees are trying to ask what’s going on. Treatment of staff, including outsourced personnel, leaves much to be desired as well, with minimal benefits offered—like a remarkably subpar choice for health maintenance organization (HMO) plans, where even the basic coverage for eye care (N12,000) feels lackluster. Compensation is another sticky subject; employees are often underpaid, and clear paths for career growth or salary increases are almost non-existent. Any queries regarding raises are met with skepticism about personal contributions, disregarding people's experience or time spent with the company. It seems only those who drastically boost revenue or bring in high-profile clients are considered worthy of a pay bump. The turnover rate is alarmingly high, with many employees looking for better opportunities within a month or less of being there and leaving the second they appear. This results in those who stay being overworked, taking on unfamiliar projects left behind by their predecessors. Communication throughout the organization is also quite poor. The graduate trainee program seems to be more of a stopgap for high turnover, offering little training beyond basic onboarding and immediately tossing new hires into projects. As for the office environment, it’s cramped and uncomfortable; it feels like there’s barely enough room for everyone. Despite complaints, the only response has been a vague promise about searching for a new workspace sometime in late 2024. Even more concerning, taxes and pension contributions are deducted from paychecks but often go unremitted, even for long-term employees. It took quite the social media uproar in 2025 just to see a fraction of those funds returned to quiet the issue. And trust me, there’s so much more to this story.
