Pros

All the people who work here have exceptional values and apply those values directly to their work. The mission is clear, and built into all collaborative discussion and decision making. Supporting people who we serve in this field is work that is full of joy and interpersonal connection. There are many opportunities for overtime. Employees are listened to, given opportunity to grow and improve, and concerns are addressed,

Cons

Turnover is high, but that is typical in this field. Lots of changes in middle management, specifically, because management is often overburdened with a sometimes impossible combination of leadership tasks and direct service tasks. Folks doing both direct service and leadership roles simultaneously must give over a big chunk of their lives to meet the mission and to feel like they are doing their jobs well. This is hard emotional work, sometimes physically demanding as well. The reward has to be enough for someone personally, especially at the middle management level, to be able to consistently work at least 10-15 hours of overtime weekly.

Pros

The clients are some of the greatest people i've worked with in my years as a caregiver.

Cons

Lack of communication!! Management has no concern for their employees unless you fit into the clique. The lack of basic supports and questionable behavior in regards to client preferences for care and staff. I personally watched a manager take clothes from one clients dresser drawer (while this person was away for the day) and use them for another client. The same "manager" Took razors and personal products from one client and used them on another, just because the client had small patch of hair on the bridge of her nose. I never thought i would see such disgusting actions from someone who took a job to be an advocate for those people.
