Pros

Maybe salary? Not sure of anything else apart from not working weekends, nights or bank holidays.

Cons

Surprisingly very target driven! You’re a pressured to meet deadlines and targets and there seems to a lack of empathy for the Health Professionals who carry out the assessments. You feel rushed during calls because you need to finish quickly, complete the report and move on to the next case. Money is good but is it worth going to work feeling low and drained and leaving work feeling same? They promise work-life balance but it is not realistic as you tend to have more complex cases which normally take longer; although each assessment is different depending on so many factors such as Claimant’s health, wellbeing on the call, network issues, whether they speak too fast or too slow or they answer questions going round in circles and also getting translation cases; there is still an expectation to complete 3 cases in a day. You don’t get any sick pay in your first year of working and wonder why? I’m sure they know how brutal the job is and how it can grateful affect a person’s mental health or physical health. Staff turnover is extremely high!! The irony is they create the impression that they are big on wellbeing whilst at the same time hurting your wellbeing. Definitely considering my options and searching for other jobs.

Pros

Work from home, encouraged to log off on time Fair compensation Nice manager/colleagues

Cons

Unrealistic targets, focus on number of reports written a day not quality Mental health suffered due to significant pressures Large number of employees left due to the pressure or were put on performance improvement plans, never worked somewhere where so many employees where on performance plans, structure and targets need to change Although it was WFH there was not much flexibility
