Pros

Some kind people in middle management. Ability to work remote. Some interesting clients.

Cons

Do not work here, no matter how desperate you are. I worked at True Communications that later became IGT. In my time, many people were fired without cause and even threatened with lawsuits- again with no cause. Disfunction- Clients are not acquired by team they will working with. These clients are promised unattainable goals, with equally unattainable timelines, and saddled with massive retainer prices. Then the team that will actually work with them is given access and sees the astronomical and unattainable goals set. You are set up to fail and blamed when outlandish and totally impossible KPIs are unmet - bottom line you are set up to fail. When we asked to be included in the acquisition process and to have more realistic KPIs and timelines set, we were denied over and over. Clients were also threatened with lawsuits from time to time. Great way to build business and rapport. Culture- Culture is extremely lacking. You’ll do quizzes that are the next hot trend in leadership and are told this will inform your workflow. Nothing happens. You’ll attend seminars and are told it will be an ethos for how we’ll work moving forward. It won’t be. When you are saddled with endless work and deadlines, you’ll be sent a box and told to bake cookies for a team cookie decorating party on zoom. Wait? Really? With what time. Ethos- PR and marketing efforts are not led strategically. For example, instead of allowing staff time the time to research editors, were were told to create massive lifts and carpet bomb with emails. When media said they weren’t interested, we were told we got a response and to hit them again. We were told to build media lists with say 100 names. Nothing about how qualified the outlet was to cover the brand or product. They are about making money and burning through clients and staff. Not building relationships. Finally, as I sat with a journalist at a company dinner, I was asked about the escapades of one owner’s lifestyle as a swinger. I was told the owner bragged about it at company events and often shared experiences in detail. In the end, how you spend your time is up to you. But work isn’t the time to share this information especially when you’re working to build relationships with media. I don’t talk about my sex life with editors, my expectation was that the same happened at the highest levels of leadership. It did not. Pay- Men are often paid substantially more than women. In many cases upwards of $20k to $50k more. Often, the men earning more worked for women who were paid less. Many of us went years without raises. When we were finally proposed a raise, it was behind the rate of inflation. Those raises were offered by middle management and later vetoed by the owners In conclusion, again- you are not this desperate. Look elsewhere. The promises they are making you will not come to fruition. Run!

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We take every comment seriously as we are continuously seeking to improve. We are sorry that your time at InGoodTaste wasn’t ideal and we recognize that our company is not for everyone. The single topic of importance here that deserves and requires attention is around salary and compensation. Unlike your assumptions, we will engage on this topic from a place of fact vs. fiction. At InGoodTaste we use compensation benchmarking, which is related to salary benchmarking and is the process of comparing salaries and benefits between organizations. InGoodTaste first defines job responsibilities for its roles and then matches those to jobs in peer companies. This effort places every employee in a salary band to ensure parity and wage transparency. Without question, there are zero pay gaps in comparable roles with this approach which is an organizational topic of pride. InGoodTaste is an Equal Opportunities Employer, we believe that diversity is vital to InGoodTaste’s ability to provide our clients with the best recommendations and are committed to fostering a varied and inclusive work environment. As for the balance of your perspective we firmly denounce the claims made as they are egregious and inappropriate. We wish you all the best in your career.” -Ryan+Mark

Pros

I raised my hand to be brought on to IGT in 2021. The presence, talent, and intentionality of leadership are unmatched by any I’ve worked with, and our collective enthusiasm for creating positive change for clients, communities, and in culture is inspirational. I’m doing the best work of my career because of the team, opportunities, support, and collaboration I’ve found at IGT. If this kind of work inspires you, and you’re willing to put in the effort, stay curious and collaborative - you will thrive here. You will find that IGT will look out for you as a whole person, not just as an employee. They want you to grow, they want to support you, they want you to succeed.

Cons

IGT is a creative consultancy actively trying to disrupt old and outdated models that no longer serve the process of creating true impact. The work requires developing new ways of thinking, problem-solving, and making, which isn’t always easy or straightforward - and while that work isn't necessarily suited to everyone, that’s OK.

Pros

I’ve been a part of the IGT team since the beginning and was part of TRUE Communications, a PR agency that was absorbed into IGT. No question that IGT is a high performance organization that is focused on delivering amazing work for clients and that takes a lot of effort. IGT is not quite two years old as of this writing and has grown rapidly by developing relationships with top tier clients. There's no question in my mind that this consultancy is going to continue to scale and will deliver truly creative work (vs. work that just wins awards.) IGT has grown quickly during the past two years and has taken growing a culture seriously. The management team her is focused on supporting team members and have backed that up with great benefits, bonus comp and increases in salary.

Cons

This is not limited to IGT, but to any type of consultancy or agency: Working at a consultancy is demanding and dynamic and is not for everyone. If you've tried agency work in the past and found that being deadline driven and accountable is not for you, then you should definitely skip IGT or an agency of any type.
