Pros

+Smart technical leadership with impressive and engaged investors +Direct exposure to a C-suite that always makes time for you +Well known customers like Stitch Fix and Goop +Opportunity to work on innovative technologies at reasonable scale +Team is nice and gets along well with minor drama in some departments

Cons

+Poor work/life balance, particularly in engineering +Leadership knows engineering and sales well but is not experienced in other areas, resulting in important, non-technical decisions languishing +Lack of diversity in thinking and in backgrounds, with most women in engineering leaving over the last year +Tendency to treat customers like a burden instead of as partners or as sources of strategic input +Leadership has hired and retained talent poorly outside of the areas where leadership is experienced, which is engineering and sales +Tendency to blame people who are no longer on the team for our issues

Thank you for your honest feedback! As an early stage company that's continuously improving, we genuinely appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your experience at Impira. We take your concerns very seriously, and I personally would like the chance to learn more about the steps we can take as a company to improve this together. I'll also be the first to admit that we've experienced a ton of change this year - we grew the team more than 200% over the past year, set ambitious goals for ourselves in the new year (velocity), and made some pretty big bets that went alongside them. Unfortunately, not all of them were considered a success; however, we are deeply committed to learning and meaningful feedback such as yours make us better for them. Last but not least, your feedback and concerns are extremely valued. I hope you'll continue to share them with us in any format that's meaningful to you whether in our monthly survey, with your manager, myself, and/or any member of our People Team. We are all here to support you on this journey together. -Ankur

Pros

- Remote - Not trying to follow a SaaS recipe card - Default of test and learn - Focused and prioritize what will get us to the next stage - Growing - Market traction

Cons

A small team that moves fast means lots of Slack and knowledge sprawl. We're getting better at documenting for more asynchronous work and less pings, but we've got a ways to go.

Pros

People & Culture: The people make this company. It’s our intense curiosity, courage to take risks, personal accountability, and knowing that at the end of the day, we’re here to make work life more pleasant and productive for everyone. Yes, everyone here is extremely bright and talented (in so many ways) and yes we’re building unbelievable tech but one of my favorite things personally is how compassionate and empathetic everyone is. I feel honored to work with such an inspiring group of people while doing what I love. Executive Team: We have a phenomenal executive team who’s deeply invested in everyone’s success - not just company’s. This makes for a high growth environment where people are genuinely entrusted to do their best work, explore new areas, discover themselves, and grow with the company. The executive team does a great job of bringing their expertise and mentorship to the table, while also creating space and support for employees to create their own paths.

Cons

This isn't unique to any startup and isn't a con but we're learning a lot as we're going and we're moving fast!!! We really embrace this at Impira and there's so much we're doing for the first time. There's a ton of opportunity for impact with building new things out, scaling out existing processes, and doing things differently rather than following existing ways. I personally find this re-energizing to be a part of the solution everyday.
