From Matt Blair, President of Immedia
---
Thank you for taking time to provide feedback. Our core values encourage employees to be honest and let us know how they feel. I only wish I or another member of management was afforded the opportunity to hear you out and address the areas you’ve mentioned in real-time, but you have done that here so I will do my best to reply with the same intent.
I am truly sorry to hear that this was your experience at Immedia. During this period of rapid growth, the company is not immune to feeling some growing pains. While I can't promise that the company will be perfect in all areas, I can promise that we're open to feedback and want to work with all team members to continually improve the employee experience.
That being said, I can't agree with your comments regarding our culture and the demeanor of your management team. To achieve our mission to become the most sought-after technology company in the Southwestern United States, we must use our core values as our guiding light, especially during these times of hyper growth. It’s true that our team is relentless -- we certainly don't glorify overwork, but we don't ever leave the team high and dry, and we don't ever quit. I regret that this wasn't the culture that you felt as an employee.
Because we care about each other professionally and personally, our leadership team knows the importance of fair compensation and benefits. In November 2021, merit-based pay increases were awarded to qualified employees. In addition to our competitive pay, we are proud to offer benefits that include a robust health insurance plan, 401(k) qualified retirement program with a 50% company match up to 4%, employer-paid life insurance and short term disability policies, generous PTO plan with seven company holidays, and a monthly cell phone stipend for qualifying roles. I always want to encourage our employees to take advantage of all the benefits available to them as they are a major component of their total compensation.
The truth is that it isn't always easy for employees to feel comfortable sharing feedback like yours. It’s my goal that employees would bring feedback like yours to a member of management or leadership. To create a channel for employees to provide 100% anonymous feedback, Immedia has recently implemented an initiative where employees can submit a monthly survey to rate the company across six categories (Purpose, Company, Leaders, Employees, Customers, and Individuals). I take exceptional pride in the recent shift to a more proactive approach to employee engagement. The leadership team has committed to sharing the survey results and our plans for improvement in the most transparent way possible.
Your comment that company events don’t happen seems to be off base as we’ve hosted fireside chats, birthday parties, all-hands meetings, informal happy hours, and off-site employee team building events all within the first three months of 2022.
Our policy on remote work was established with the understanding that the nature of our business is very reliant on in-person work. Each employee's ability to work remotely is determined by their role. We also adhere to all state regulations regarding employee’s final pay.
The sky truly is the limit for our employees -- we are innovating at breakneck speeds as the company moves into its next phase and the opportunities for growth are abundant. Often, I must make long-term business decisions that could have less than ideal implications in the short-term. If you bear with me during our company’s time of growth, I believe that our whole company will feel positive impact. I’m not one to shy away from taking ownership of our flaws -- we can always improve and feedback like this drives me to do so.
