Pros

- varied, fast paced work - very hands on - some ability to learn from mid level electronics engineers on the job

Cons

- No structure, to anything. - Engineers expected to interrupt their work to take a high level of sales calls. - Below average pay, and no other benefits, especially for consultancy work. - Culture built around selling as much work as possible and then hoping that the majority of smaller clients can’t put up any legal fight with the lack of timelines and constantly missed deliverables. - Lacking strategy, when queried managing director made excuses that everyone was too busy to have a strategy meeting or to improve any processes. - Overall an immature business which gets product development done quick and dirty

Pros

The work can be varied. The company is extremely small, so its easy to attain a new job title. Good for graduate level work (but nothing beyond that).

Cons

Salary is extremely low when compared to other similar roles. Pension is the minimum contribution. The whole package is not competitive, especially given all the other opportunities in Bristol. The company doesn't seem to know what direction it wants to go in, what its values are or what it specialises in. It just seems to take on any work available. There are no experts to learn from in this company, there are no role models. There is high staff turnover. You will need to move on if you wish to grow and develop from hobbyist level engineering.
