Pros

View of the beach from the restaurant

Cons

Poor management and unclear pay and tip policy. New employees are not trained, and the manner in which tips are shared among Server Assistants and Food Runners from the Servers has not been established by management. It is sketchy. The combined tips given to Assistant Servers and Food Runners from an average of 6 Servers a shift, is less than $10 a day. The Food Runners and Servers Assistants are lucky if the Servers bother to tip them at all, after providing the service that enabled them to receive a tip. The money given in the paycheck also needs to be monitored by the employee receiving the pay. Mistakes are made leaving an employee with a pay rate of $2 an hour. Combining this weekly paycheck with the $5 and $7 in tips for a 28 hour work week, gives an employee the minimum wage of the early 1970's. Management does not like being questioned about the pay scale or tip policy, screams at untrained employees, and does not provide a lunch/dinner break when working 8 to 10 hour shifts. If working for Icona in Wildwood, expect lack of adequate training and established procedures, an unclear pay scale, no established guidelines or procedure for sharing tips, and no job security. This business on the beach has a motto of "Every man for himself". Terrible work atmosphere, working conditions, and pay.

Everyone who works there is all miserable which helps.
