Pros

The only thing I can say is I worked with nice people.

Cons

My job was absorbed into another department. I had the choice to stay with my old apartment or go with my new department. If I stayed with my old department, the job I would be doing wasn’t a job I enjoyed doing and if I went with my new department it would be a job I was trained to do and enjoyed doing. The new department was awful and it drove me to the point of almost a nervous break down. I sought medical care for stress and anxiety and was immediately told by my dr. based on my medical history, I needed to take time to bring down my anxiety. I went out on disability in June. Months before I was put on disability, I was looking to change jobs and had interviewed at numerous places and I received an offer while I was out recuperating. All of my doctors suggested that a job change was the most prudent course of action to help my condition, so I handed in my resignation before the end of the month. Now they are not paying me for the month I was out on disability even though I have submitted multiple doctor’s evidence to prove the detriment the stress caused and the need to be out. This was the thanks I got for being an above average performer for over 10 years. Everyone I know is so stressed and miserable. They preach “self care” but don’t practice it. If you like killing yourself for a job this is the place for you. However, don’t get sick or you won’t see any money.

Pros

Resources and access to good studies to be successful in research, immediate PTO benefits, 401k match.

Cons

Growth opportunities/compensation - besides the annual merit raises of <3 percent I haven’t gotten a raise in 5 years.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
