Pros

- Very interesting, real-world applicable work that will look great on a resume. - Allowed to leave promptly at 5 pm each day and work is not expected to be taken home.

Cons

- Vindictive bosses that allow far too much emotion and personal dislike of employees to influence their personnel decisions. - Claim to offer professional development assistance, but when you ask if you can learn something they tell you to go away and stop bothering them. - Bosses make you so miserable during the day that it is impossible to not bring the baggage of the day home with you, and that compounds to the point where you're dreading going to work the next day every night you go to bed. - Absolutely no promotional potential, and raises outside of cost of living are rare. - Management feels the need to micromanage to a point of tracking time the employees are in the office down to the minute (for an eight hour day). - Management has no qualms screaming at entry level employees for the work they produce even though management never provides guidelines or training as to how the work should be done. - Between 8 am and 5 pm, you're not allowed to speak to your coworkers unless they are on your project team and then you're only allowed to speak to them about current work-related matters- no socializing, no saying hello unless it's in passing, breaks outside of lunchtime are strongly discouraged, etc. - The list of cons is endless and will continue to build the longer Intek exists, but hopefully this list gives an idea of just how miserable people are while working for this company. I got terminated and am happier now without a job and currently searching, than I was with a consistent paycheck but knowing I had to go to work for those bosses everyday.

Pros

It's a starting job for your resume

Cons

I worked at INTEK during a period when the company appeared to rely heavily on recent graduates while providing limited structure, training, or onboarding. Expectations were often unclear, and employees could receive criticism for issues that had never been communicated beforehand. Rather than developing employees through mentorship and clear feedback, management frequently relied on vague comments that made it difficult to understand how success was being measured. One of the biggest challenges was the workplace culture. Communication could feel condescending, and constructive feedback was often overshadowed by arbitrary criticism. Employees were expected to figure things out independently despite receiving little guidance, which created unnecessary stress and contributed to turnover. The work itself had the potential to be interesting, and many of the younger employees were intelligent and hardworking. Unfortunately, the management style often undermined employee confidence rather than helping people grow professionally.
