Pros

Although I was not with Insurhaus for a considerably long time, I learned a lot about the company and the people that I thought to share for anyone considering a position here, as I would have liked this honesty before applying myself. Office is on the smaller end, so it is quick to solve any issues. Uncapped commission as soon as sales goal is met with every month. If a new hire does not have any prior experience, management will train and pay for the class to get a broker license. Work day is average (9am-5:30pm) with many days off during the holidays. Working here was a great learning experience. I gained a lot of knowledge in the insurance field as well as how to work independently. Additionally, my years here have taught me what red flags to look for in future employers.

Cons

Training: - Training is minimal; the norm is to be trained with a veteran employee for at most one work week, then new hires are set on their own to make calls and start selling (with or without a license, but that must be obtained within one month) Management/Staff: - Management is reluctant to listen to any ideas the employees have, ending up in frequent verbal arguments which can be heard throughout the office - Except for newer employees who are willing to help (luckily I had one), most staff is not willing to train new employees. The veteran staff is very open in expressing their disgust with new hires (which I heard on multiple occasions) Pay: - Employees will be set up as an Independent Contractor (10-99), as Insurhaus does not offer W-4 - Taxes will need to be paid back; as I learned that can be very expensive - Although you are an Independent Contractor, you are required to be in the office during a set time with a set lunch - Sales goal is set at $120,000 per month in order to get 15% commission - There are no benefits such as health care, 401-K, etc. Upon leaving the company: - It is also normal that when a two-week notice is put in, management will tell the employee to leave within the next few hours (I was not expecting this, however staff I became close with told me to prepare for this) - Documents will continue to be sent to clients with your name on them for weeks or sometimes months after you left - Final paycheck may be shorted as they will deduct additional hours for any time you took off (although that time was previously deducted)

Pros

I'm fairly new here but I'm really impressed with the postivie atmosphere. Management goes out of their way to make you feel like part of a family and let you know that they appreciate your effort. In the short time I've been here I can see so much opportunity if you're willing to work for it.

Cons

I've found in this industry there doesn't seem to be a lot of training and I think Insurhaus could use some improvement in this area. If you've got initiative and experience you can really make things happen here but it might be a little overwhelming if you're new to the industry.

Pros

We care about our customers, how you might ask? well, for starters, we want our customers to have the best coverage's. Also language is not a barrier, since we have bilingual agents, from Spanish, English, Russian, and Lithuanian. Management treats you like family, and you actually like coming to work, Monday's do not seem like Mondays since you are busy helping customers.

Cons

Like every other company and work environment, there are come Cons. One con would be since you are too busy working with customer there really isn't any time to socialize with coworkers, but when ever you need help, you can always count with a coworker to help you with any problem that you might encounter.
