Pros
It's a good place to start off to get your feet wet and get experience. You get to wear a lot of hats and see how a lot of other people do their work. People are willing to teach you if they have the time. The benefits are great.
Cons
They overwork you and you don't get paid for it. It's hard for you to find time to take off because you're worried about handing your work off to someone else who might not be able to do your job well. Ridiculous politics when it comes to promotion and hiring from outside instead of promoting people who have proven themselves.
