Pros

Contracts are with clients that want to improve operations and procedures within their respective companies and in the world around them. Some employees are interesting, informative, and innovative, have shown themselves to be assets to the company.

Cons

No such thing as best practices. Procedures are haphazard and changed frequently without showing improvements Distinct division of employee hierachy in regards to pay and benefits Employee handbook that is published on the company site does not apply to local "low fringe"employees Little chance of local advancement Most managers are "acquired" employees not employees that have the knowledge or experience to lead, most of the management do not know internal procedures or day to day operations No investment in the workforce, little training available, and if requested, are told its not in the budget Little use of employee ideas and insight, and if taken under advisement managers usually say idea is their own. No gratitude for job well done. Employees are "used" for their knowledge in relationship to contracts by upper management without acknowledgment of employees achievements or accolades. Every issue is a "fire to be put out", never look at the procedure to implement a better practice to "prevent fires" Very unhappy, underpaid workforce. Company plays on the fact that the region has the highest unemployment percentage and uses threatening tactics to retain employees. Too many times have I heard "you can be replaced". Retailiatory attitude in local management. Speaking out on issues will get employees brought into a managers office for discussion on what not to say in public, and most employees that show distrust and discouragement usually find themselves back out in the workforce shortly. Most employees are looking for jobs elsewhere, very few happy employees on location. It appears no one outside of location knows what is occuring at this location in regards to employees, and employees are too frightened of losing their jobs to speak out.
