The professors and group leaders are very friendly, and along with many of the other scientific staff, they contribute to making ICAMS a social and friendly place to work. The scientists are given enough freedom to realize their goals independently, yet there is guidance available when needed. There's even a beer break on Friday afternoon!

The obligation for written weekly reports is sometimes a painful waste of time, since much of the most important progress is discussed with one's superiors anyway. Sometimes it even feels like the reports are not being read, since some points contained therein have to be reiterated when discussed in person.
