Pros

As an employee of IAM Technology Group Ltd, commonly known as IAM Cloud, I am thrilled to share my positive experience working at this organization. In this review, I aim to highlight the exceptional work environment characterized by remote work opportunities, unwavering support, and continuous professional development. IAM Cloud truly stands out by providing its employees with the benefits of remote work. The company's commitment to remote work flexibility has played a pivotal role in fostering a healthy work-life balance for its workforce. By leveraging cutting-edge remote collaboration tools and maintaining open lines of communication, IAM Cloud has successfully created a work environment that encourages seamless teamwork and maximizes productivity. Since joining IAM Cloud, I have been consistently impressed by the unparalleled level of support offered. The support system within the company is second to none, with colleagues and superiors consistently demonstrating a genuine willingness to assist and share their expertise. This supportive network has been instrumental in my professional growth, enabling me to expand my knowledge and refine my skills in the field of software development/engineering & testing.

Cons

While IAM Cloud offers an exceptional work environment, it is worth noting that there have been instances of longer working days, primarily attributable to knowledge gaps. However, it is essential to recognize that these extended hours are often driven by personal dedication and a desire to deliver outstanding results while ensuring project deadlines are met. IAM Cloud's commitment to excellence and timely task completion has motivated me to surpass expectations, further enhancing my skills and contributing to the success of our projects.

Pros

A great team of super smart and friendly people. Working on some really exciting projects with almost unimaginable potential. Solid pay. Remote working.

Cons

Today, there are hardly any cons. But IAM Cloud has come a very long way from its humble and occasionally difficult roots of building a software company from scratch with no investment. I've seen an amazing amount of change over the 7 years (at the point of writing) I've worked for the business. One genuine challenge facing the company today is trying to bring greater diversity (a big problem in tech in general), but it's something the business is actively trying to change, and it's getting better with time.

Pros

Autonomy - there's a lot of freedom in terms of how to deliver solutions. Just because something was done a certain way in the past, doesn't dictate that things should continue in that fashion. Flexibility - aside from a few meetings during core hours, there is the ability to shuffle around your working hours to suit your needs. You are evaluated on your output, rather than whether or not you're sat at your desk 9-5 every day. Remote working - you are provided with the tools needed to work remotely effectively. The company has been pro remote working before the pandemic, and doesn't feel like an after thought. Trust - as a team of skilled, passionate people, you're left to manage your time as you see fit. Tooling - choice of laptop and OS, productivity tooling and courses are easy to acquire through the company provided there's a tangible benefit in terms of knowledge or efficiency. Leadership - all of the directors are down to earth and approachable. They work hands on along side the rest of the employees and don't feel like distant authority figures pulling the strings from afar.

Cons

There's still some refinement needed to working patterns and practices as the company grows and the teams mature. However, any good ideas are listened to and implemented, and as things are found to work or not work, things are tweaked and continually improved. There is what some might call a "start-up mentality" - which is a positive in most ways, but may be a little intimidating if you're used to working in a rigid, enterprise-style company where you're drip fed a list of user stories to get on with.
