Pros
While pay is below industry levels - receiving stock options make it worth it. However, you need to be in spot where you cannot be replaced.
Cons
Developers want to use the best and latest tools - yet we dont have the manpower or money to fully utilize and implement the tooling. For a tech company, we are seriously behind in the latest tech. Today's startups are leaps and bounds ahead of us in their tech stack. Pay is below industry standard, yet the company claim the perks make up for it. The perks used to include parties, random events, etc. that have essentially disappeared due to shareholders. C level execs care more about making shareholders happy than making their employees happy.
