Pros
There was ample room for growth and opportunities that extended beyond coding, allowing me to excel outside of my comfort zone. The company's positive impact on the local economy and its proximity to home were also significant advantages.
Cons
I was laid off under the pretext of being the most junior engineer on the team due to a slowdown in work. However, they also let go of two loyal line harness employees who had been with the company for over 10 years. Instead of retaining American workers, they chose to keep a foreign visa employee by finding loopholes in the system, rehiring this person every time he had to renew his working visa. Additionally, the person assigned to train me was never available, leaving me to fend for myself, and the foreign employee who could have shown me the ropes was too prideful to help.
